Which gas does a Photocopier machine produce

Photocopier machines and laser printers often produce small amounts of ozone gas during operation. This occurs because high voltage electrical discharges inside the machine split oxygen molecules creating ozone. In low concentrations ozone has a sharp smell and can be irritating to the eyes nose and throat. In high concentrations it can be harmful to health and damage lung tissue. For this reason photocopiers are usually placed in ventilated rooms to avoid buildup of ozone. Despite the risk modern machines are designed with filters and technology to reduce ozone emissions. Therefore ozone is the gas released in photocopying machines.
