Al-Muatta compiled by Imam Malik is considered the first comprehensive Hadith collection. It combined sayings and practices of the Prophet with legal opinions. Grammatically it is a proper noun naming a book. While other collections appeared later Al-Muatta set the standard for Hadith documentation.
