Pakistan became Republic in which year

Pakistan became Republic on 23 March 1956 with the adoption of its first constitution. The Governor General office was replaced by President as head of state. The day is celebrated as Pakistan Day every year. Becoming Republic marked a milestone in Pakistan political history as it established democratic constitutional government.
