Pneumonia commonly results from which bacterial group

Typical bacterial pneumonia is often due to Streptococcus pneumoniae which is a gram positive coccus. Other cocci like Staphylococcus aureus can be involved. Bacillus refers to rod shaped bacteria that include many species. Vibrio are curved rod forms linked with cholera. The general morphological group in standard teaching here is cocci.
